Swim Instructor - 2025 Summer Year
Curtis is seeking a summer day-camp Swim Instructor to join a supportive, inclusive, and educational learning community as a member of the camp team. Curtis School is a DK-6 co-ed elementary school whose mission is to “develop, in every child, a sound mind in a sound body, governed by a compassionate heart.”
As a Swim Instructor, you'll be responsible for teaching campers of various ages and skill levels how to swim, improving their water safety skills, and ensuring a fun and secure environment at the camp pool.

Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
Teach swim lessons to campers of varying ages and skill levels using approved curriculum and techniques.
Plan and lead engaging water-based activities and games that promote confidence and enjoyment in the water.
Supervise campers during instructional and recreational swim periods, maintaining constant visual contact and attentiveness.
Assists in monitoring and cleaning locker room area(s) and related facilities and equipment.
Be prepared to respond swiftly to emergencies, including performing water rescues and administering first aid/CPR.
Attend and participate in all required staff training, safety drills, and team meetings.
Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating enthusiasm, respect, and professionalism.
Qualifications & Skills
A successful candidate must:
Current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent) preferred.
CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred.
Prior experience teaching swim lessons or working with children in aquatic settings is a strong plus.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
High level of responsibility, patience, and energy.
Be available to work from June 23, 2025 - August 1, 2025
Be able to adhere to a 8:30 am - 2:30 pm daily work schedule
